Diwali Celebrations

"Don't Act Mean, Go Green."
Celebrate An Eco-Friendly Diwali This Year.........
Diwali or Deepawali essentially means the Awareness of the Inner Light. It is celebrated across all communities of India, creating a homogeneous environment of goodwill and happiness. It is a time for both gratitude and gaiety.
Pollution is a big issue of the present-day world and has many bad effects on the environment. So, all we can do is increase self-awareness and try to motivate people to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali. One can start by just lighting diyas and avoiding loud and smoke filled firecrackers. Let’s celebrate Deepawali with lights and diyas and return to our traditional ways to celebrate the auspicious day. Students of GGHS pledged to take care of the environment in their own ways.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the good work!!

The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals. "Live everyday as if it is a festival and turn your life into a celebration." Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across India.
The festival signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair. The students and teachers of Gwalior Glory High School celebrated Diwali in the school premises. Teachers explained students about the importance of Diwali, lit diyas and made beautiful rangolis.

World Food Day

" अन्नब्रह्मा रसोविष्णुः भोक्ता देवो महेश्वरः ।
   इति संचिंत्ययो भुङ्ते दृष्टिदोषो न बाधते ॥ "
This Invocation before food means the creative energy in the food is Brahma. The nourishing energy in the body is Vishnu. The transformation of food into pure consciousness is Shiva. If you know this, then any impurities in the food you eat will never become part of you. Food is one of the most essential requirements for the sustenance of life. Humans would be able to survive without clothes and shelter, but they can't survive without food. Centuries ago, our ancient Rishi-Muni's understood the importance of food. So, they correlate food with GOD. World Food Day is an International day celebrated every year worldwide on October 16 to commemorate the date of the foundation of the United Nations Food And Agriculture (FAO).
The day is observed to raise the awareness among the masses about the importance of food and nutrition which further ensures food security and nutritious diet for all.
This year the theme of World Food Day is -“OUR ACTIONS ARE OUR FUTURE”
Our lovely little glittery “GLORIANS” are passing the same message in their unique way.
World Food Day is a chance to show our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030.
“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well."

International Plastic Bag Free Day

International Plastic Bag Free Day is dedicated to heightening awareness about the very real and pressing issues brought about by this most popular of disposable carrying device : PLASTIC BAG.
Plastic pollution is a global catastrophe and sadly it is a man-made one. Did you know that approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used on a global scale?
Just think about how many of these bags will end up littered all over the planet. This is having an extremely detrimental effect on the environment, wildlife and indeed human health. Plastic bags may pass out of our thinking after 20 to 30 minutes of use but they do not pass out of our world. Plastic bags remain in the world from 100-500 years before finally decaying completely, and have a profound impact upon our environment as a result. If we can live without using plastic bags on this one date, then we can do it for the rest of the year, right?
